See ya, Summer!

Welcome to your Member Communication for February 2022. Summer appears to have knocked off early this year, with rain and much colder temperatures in the last couple of weeks than we are used to. The flip side is that the course is looking amazing with all the growth and everybody's water tank is full!

Men's Open

What a weekend! Appalling weather for our hardy menfolk, commendations to the 66 who played on Saturday in torrential rain. Sunday match play was abandoned due to the conditions.

Prize giving was done on Saturday's results, congratulations to James Loe for winning the Vaughan Carrington Cup (Best Nett, RBGC members only) with a score of 56. Brest Gross goes to Brendon Curtis with a score of 63 C/B.

Huge thanks to our sponsors, tournament committee and all who helped on the day. Please see our website for full results and details.

Committee Update

The Committee continues to work with our architects for detailed plans and costs for the clubhouse renovations.

The plaques for the new plantings of Pohutukawa will be affixed shortly.

The dual pin placement option for number 7 and 16 green is now in play as is the new number 2 and 11 green.

Due to the continuing presence of Covid and the legal requirements at Red alert, members of the committee will be checking covid passports on entry to the clubhouse, monitoring the number of people within the area and ensuring that masks are worn unless seated at your table. Please remember to wear your mask when moving around the premises, no mask will mean you will not be served at the bar.

A concerning number of members (both full playing and non-playing) have yet to pay this year’s subscription. With the change to our accounting systems, we are no longer able to deduct these from your credit card as done previously. Please check that you have paid and if not, this can be done online or over the bar when it is open. If you wish to resign your membership or have any questions, please email [email protected]

Covid Policy Review and Update

The Committee previously agreed to discuss the Club's Covid Vaccination Policy as an agenda item at each montly meeting.

Following the most recent review of the current policy, the Committee agreed that this will remain in place for both the Clubhouse and the Course but to exempt the Tennis Courts from the vaccine passport requirement.

The above decision reflects the low risk of our outdoor tennis courts with no sharing of equipment required. Unvaccinated members and guests are welcome to play on the courts, provided they do not enter the Clubhouse or use any of the hire equipment.
