Hi Member

Here we are again! It's hard to believe that October is halfway over and we are very quickly heading into the holiday season once more.

With Labour Weekend coming up, please remember the golden rules around using the Clubhouse and Course;

- Book your round online

- Sign in using the QR code or the manual system (located just inside the Clubhouse door)

- Please wear your mask when you are in the clubhouse, unless you are seated and eating/drinking

- You need to remain seated while you are visiting the Clubhouse, please stay within your group and our staff will be operating table service. Remember to pay your tab at the end of the night (you can approach the bar to do this).

Thanks for your patience and cooperation. We are doing our best to follow the L2 guidelines and keep both our members and staff safe.

Best, Bec O'Neale (Club Manager)

Shoot Out – The final day for a shoot out score is Saturday 20 November. Shoot Out final will be played as on the programme, Sunday 28 November.

Please remember that the date for the club champs has changed due to the lock down, finals day is now November 6th alongside the Shirley and Colin Simpson 27-hole stableford for those that did not make the finals. The Championships will tee off at 9am and break for lunch, the 27 holers will tee off at 9.30 and play through the entire 27 hole and lunch at the conclusion.

Committee Update

The Grounds Committee will be planting the Pohutukawa trees shortly, thanks to all of those that have purchased a tree. This order are slightly smaller than the first batch due to a rise in pricing, but they will all have irrigation so should grow well.

I have inquired about the possibility of joining with Castlepoint to have a combined men’s interclub team for the Marquis Shield in 2022 as a number of members expressed an interest. Unfortunately, they have got back to me and said that as we cannot host 72 players all at once this can not be an option. I did offer to have 36 players at each of our two courses on the same day OR to have a morning and afternoon tee times. So, at this stage unless there is more flexibility, we cannot enter a team in the Wairarapa competition, a very disappointing outcome.

We have had another committee resignation this month, Maxine Moss will not be standing again, so if you have been considering joining the committee, we would love to speak with you. Thanks to those that have shown interest, I will be in touch.

Masterton Golf Club have rescinded their decision to not offer us reciprocal playing rights, we have now returned to the situation where we have reciprocal playing rights with ALL Wairarapa Clubs as they all do with us.

The two architects we have engaged to provide concept plans for the development of the clubhouse are close to submitting these for consideration.

Stay well, we will see you all soon. Karen Barbour (Club Captain).

Tennis Court Renovations

The tennis court renovations continue. Due to weather and limits working in the Auckland area, we managed to sneak in the resurfacing early. Plexipave is currently onsite this week laying the new court surfacces, please be aware that this means you will be unable to play tennis until they are finished.

Netting is due to be put up in November, but covid delays mean we do not have an exact date yet. Watch this space and keep an eye on social media for photos and updates.

Subscription invoices for the current 2021/22 year have been sent via email. If you have not received this, please let the office know and we can arrange another copy.

Please note that if you previously had a credit card loaded for payment, we are unable to offer this option now due to the change in member management system. The details have been destroyed and are no longer accessible.

You can pay your subs invoice via online banking (please use the reference on your invoice for ease of reconciliation) or in person at the clubhouse. Note that we can no longer accept cheques as a form of payment.

If you have any questions or would like to change your member type, please give Bec a call or email.
