News > RBGC CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

Published 24 Mar 2020

It is with sadness that we announce the clubhouse AND course are closed with immediate effect. NZ Golf has sought clarification from the Government and golf clubs are deemed a non-essential service. If you would like more information please click here for the NZ Golf media release.

As of this evening (Tuesday 24 March, 2020), the flags will be removed and the course closed sign will be up. The clubhouse will remain locked for the duration of the isolation period.

Finally, all events and tournaments are either cancelled/postponed until further notice. Please note that this obviously includes the patron ratification meeting scheduled for Easter Sunday. We initially thought that this may be able to be carried out via a proxy/remote system but our constitution does not allow for this. So we will postpone this process until things are operational again.

The expectation is that all our members and visitors will respect the above measures and appreciate the reasoning behind them. We are all in this together, please remember to support each other and be kind. Maintain your distance but stay in touch with friends and loved ones, it’s going to be one heck of a catch up at the Club when we all come out the other side of this!

Stay well,

Rebecca O’Neale

Club Manager
